What are we trying to achieve at Dubmire with our Curriculum?

We aim to provide our children with an engaging, exciting and empowering curriculum that equips them for the best start in life’s journey. We aim to ensure that all children are equipped with essential knowledge and skills that will help them reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

How does our curriculum fit in with our aims and ethos?

At Dubmire, we believe that all children deserve a Curriculum which promotes curiosity and a wider understanding of the World around them. At Dubmire, we promote respect and inclusivity for all and our Curriculum offer reflects this. Equal value is given to all Curriculum areas to ensure a breadth of experience and opportunities for all.

We place high priority on ensuring children’s physical and mental wellbeing needs are met.  We understand that children will not be successful learners unless they are emotionally secure, therefore we carefully design our curriculum and adopt a flexible approach to timetabling to ensure that we can meet and respond to any issues which may arise. Children’s physical and mental wellbeing are as valued and important as academic development.

How did we design our curriculum?

We take into account:

The National Curriculum

Our local area and context

A question/enquiry based approach

How does our curriculum meet the needs of our pupils?

The intent is to enable a flexible and creative approach to the implementation of the curriculum. Staff are empowered to create learning opportunities, and to take into consideration the learning needs of individuals, which ensure equal access to learning and success for all.
