Art and design
'Drawing is to art as the alphabet is to language and literacy.'
It is a human instinct to ‘mark make’, evident since prehistoric times. But we know that to progress in drawing we need to practice, just as we do when learning how to ride a bike. It is up to teachers to provide opportunities, motivation and support for children’s confidence and skill to grow. This is the same to all areas and aspects of art, teachers allow each child to develop, explore and express themselves through a variety of medias. Through the continuous use of our working ‘Sketch books’ skills will be highlighted and progressed during each art session. Children will be given the opportunity to learn new skills and develop previous art aspects.
