Dubmire Primary Academy

Proud to be part of Aim High Academy Trust

PE and Sports Premium Grant

The award for Dubmire in 24/25 is £19080.00 and the priorities are captured in the PE plan

We use the PE and Sport Premium to secure improvements in the following 5 key indicators:

  1. Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
  2. Engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
  3. The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
  4. Broader experience of a range of sports and physical activities offered to all pupils
  5. Increased participation in competitive sport

At Dubmire Primary Academy we believe that physical activity is fundamental to a child’s development not only helping them to be competent in basic movements and co-ordination but also laying the foundation of academic skills. At Dubmire we use a bespoke curriculum that links specific sporting skills to their relevant sports.  Physical activity is embedded into daily routines, therefore linking physical activity into our environments and every day skills. Early physical activity is crucial in setting foundations for basic motor skills and becoming physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness.

Regular physical activity can improve quality of life, improve health, promote social inclusion, raise individual self-esteem and confidence and counter anti-social behaviour. School plays a key role in promoting an active lifestyle for its young people through developing attitudes, knowledge and competence to help encourage a commitment to physical activity.
